Furling Boom Features
  • Boom section formed to give maximum strength

  • Tapered in both directions

  • Tension rod through revolving furling  mandrel

  • No claw needed over furling mandrel  due to tension rod(therefore no sail chafe)

  • Double row spherical bearings to allow for flexing of furling mandrel

  • No castings

  • All parts machined from solid material  on CNC machines and hard anodised.

  • Stainless steel thread inserts.

  • Articulated track hinged off back of existing mast track.

  • Ease of hoisting and lowering of sail  through 180 degree sector due to articulated track.

  • Furling drum in forward end of boom  (no universal ) so can be operated at  any angle.

  • Boom system fits straight onto existing  gooseneck.

  • Battern wear reduced by design of track.

  • Boom height is not critical to operation of system.

  • Standard sail cover.

  • Sail flattens as it is furled to give a true reefing system.

  • Halyard is tensioned against  locking  pawl in furling drum , not against furling line.

  • Easy installation due to no alteration needed to existing rig. Just fit the track and put in the gooseneck pin.

  • No hole through mast.

  • No furling drums on front of mast to foul genoa sheets , also leaves front of mast clear for spinnaker pole tracks etc.

  • Designed as a true bluewater system.
